Tinymailto.com, 3 weeks later

Last week was a fast one, I didn't noted that today is Sunday again :)
Anyways, here are the weekly stats:
All these numbers are totals, from 06-aug-2006 until now.

Developer diaries #1

This post is just for giving a little information about the site programming decisions.

BD: for the database I used Mysql 4 with InnoDB. No triggers were necessary.
Security: I use the PHP safe_mode and open_basedir options. Also, I parse all input, especially the page names.

... more to come

Tinymailto.com, 2 weeks later

At last, I have more stats now:
All these numbers are totals, from 06-aug-2006 until now.

I have to say that 67% of the traffic comes from stumbleupon.com, thats why I added the stumbleupon button in the site. I didn't knew stumbleupon.com until I looked at the stats and I never posted anything in stumbleupon.com, so a big thanks goes for the stumbleupon.com site and users ;)

little spellcheks update

Just updated the about, help and start page with some spellcheck corrections.
Also added a new item in the FAQ, which is the same as the line added in the start page. In the about page added links to all online services used in the site.

I'm planning to post another report this sunday, that is, in the 2nd week since tinymailto launch date.

Thanks to Ale and Migs for the english corrections. Thanks to these feedbacks, I noted that nvu misses some words while doing the spellcheck. I had to manually select all the text and then click on the spellcheck button.

P.D.: I'm just loving the new Blogger beta!

tinymailto fever

The site is starting to have more and more traffic, I keep watching the webserver access log like crazy. This is nice, but I can't concentrate much in my actual job :)

So, I will try not to look at the web server access log or the google analitics web stats for a few days. That means, I need to "Ctrl+C" that "tail -f access_log" process.

See you again in a couple of days ...

stumbleupon.com

I noted that too much hits come from www.stumbleupon.com, so I added a StumbleUpon banner on the tinymailto.com web site. I got the buttom from the button page at stumbleupon.
I'm downloading the stumbleupon firefox extension as I write ;)

Another blackout

Once again, today we had a electricity blackout, from 1140 to 1755 EST (GMT-4) :(
Sorry for the website downtime. This kind of extended blackout are not normal, it seems that the electricity company had a problem with the new installation of new wires last thursday.

Tinymailto server online

The tinymailto.com server is back online!
If you still see the temporary page, please wait until your DNS server get automatically updated.

tinymailto server offline

Today there is a big downtime scheduled to last 8 hours. Starting at 0800 EST time until 1600 EST time (EST time is GMT-4 now).
This downtime is because of a big re-wiring at the streets is done by the electric company.

This re-wiring event has never ocurred in all my live, so its a pretty un-usual event from the electric company. Its a city wide re-wiring and I hope the new wires in the streets will last another few decades too.

Sorry for the problem this may cause :(
